Ephemeral Arts Festival

The Compagnie Fruitière Fund supports associations facilitating access to culture, via initiatives in favour of socially marginalised groups. In 2019, the Fund will finance mediation activities of the Ephemeral Arts Festival.

The Ephemeral Arts Festival was created in 2009, in order to promote the diffusion of contemporary art through encounters between artists and the general public at the Parc de Maison Blanche in Marseille, the gardens of a historical estate currently housing the mayor’s offices of the city’s 9th and 10th districts.

Every year, the festival invites around fifteen artists to exhibit their works in the gardens, transforming the park into a veritable open-air gallery. This year, the festival will feature the exhibition FLUX, from 30 May to 10 June 2019.

One of the priorities of ephemeral arts is the democratisation of contemporary art via free-of-charge, temporary exhibitions, along with mediation activities proposed to the public.

With its commitment to supporting the Festival’s 2019 and 2020 editions, the Compagnie Fruitière Fund will contribute to the development of the event’s social and pedagogical aspect, in order to expand its reach towards audiences on the margins of society.

The partnership’s objective is to enable the implementation of a pedagogical and cultural project at the heart of the Festival, targeting a young audience from priority neighbourhoods, especially the 3rd and 14th districts in Marseille.

The project invites young people to reflect on issues such as the environment, migration, movement, the transient nature of things, and detail, with the help of :

  • Participation in arts and crafts workshops,
  • A visit to a contemporary art exhibition, followed by an art workshop.

In the framework of its support, the Compagnie Fruitière Fund will finance workshops and the transportation of children participating in these activities.

The Ephemeral Arts Festival is associated with the event Printemps de l’Art Contemporain.
